Transferring in BKK on different airlines and tickets
Hi brains trust,
I’m planning to fly from SYD-BKK on Monday April 11th 2022 on QF23, landing into BKK at 16:40 local time.
After that, I plan to fly from BKK-DXB on Monday April 11th 2022 on EK379, departing BKK at 21:10 local time.
They're on different PNRs.
I am not planning to leave the airport during this transit time. However, I may be checking in luggage.
According to the Thailand Pass, I will be required to book a night at a SHD and await a negative PCR result. Will I still need to do this even though I’m transferring onto a different flight in BKK, within a 12 hour period? Or, a better answer - is this even allowed?
Alternatively, does anyone know how long the Thai PCR test will take? Because I can just run the gauntlet and isolate at a nearby hotel, then once I have the negative result, I can go back out again to the airport and check in for my next flight.
Are there any other transit or quarantine rules that I must be aware of?
Thanks!
