Booking a hire car on a website of another country

Hi All,

Utter noob here although been lurking for ages. Apologies if this has been raised and discussed before.

I've noticed previously that sometimes Avis will show different prices for the same vehicle and period if booked via the Avis website of another country. ie you live in the UK, need a car for a trip in the USA and book via Avis in The Netherlands.

Secondary items such as umlimted milage, LDW etc all appear to be the same too.

Eg prices on avis.co.uk will differ from prices on avis.nl. Sometimes higher, sometimes lower.

I tried this whilst logged in with my Avis PP account and my default AWD was recognised.

Aside from currency rate fluctuations, why would that be?

More importantly, would there be anything stopping us consumers from benefiting from these difference if you can find one that varies in your favour.

Yes, of course, you need to understand the language used, so I appreciate its not for everyone

As long as you tell the truth about your nationality when the reservation is made you should be fine.

Yeah did it with my Avis PP profile it shows my residency, nationality, license details the lot. Prepaid with ‘on-file’ cc and all.
