DPS to LON
Hello,
I am trying to get myself from DPS airport in Bali to any London airport on either 2,3,4 or 5th January 2020 - Business or First Class.
With my Amex points I can fly with any alliance but really struggling to find availability. Hoping somebody could help?
Thanks

What have you found when looking?
What ffp's a member of ? FF miles? Status?
A separate cash ticket to KUL, SIN, BKK or TPE or ???, may open more options. Then an award ticket.
Great Circle Mapper
Airlines/aircraft/routes with first class is decreasing
A very general guide--->https://www.awardhacker.com/#f=DPS&f...=0&c=j&s=2&p=1
Consider these Award booking services - a list and some reviews

Thanks for this.
I am with every FFP since I have a large amount of American Express points that I can convert to OW, SA or ST points.
I don't have any high status apart from BA Silver since most of my flights use rewards.
It seems the best booking service is Juicy Miles however $200 is extremely expensive for them to find me a one-way ticket. Any reviews on their cheaper search tool?

A somewhat less obvious SkyTeam routing would be to start with the KLM flight that IIRC operates daily between DPS and SIN (and typically isn't very full) and then continue on KLM to AMS, connecting there on KLM (although BA and some budget carriers would do this route too as well as going to other London airports) to LHR. From SIN you could also do AF through CDG or IIRC VS to LHR, which now partners with AF/KLM even though they're not an alliance member.
Connecting through North America is likely to require two award tickets, although depending on prices there's a slight chance that this could nevertheless be cheaper.

I recently tried to get a similar award out of dps to the west coast, and didnt have much luck.
I found that checking awards out of CGK, SUB, SIN, KUL and BKK I came up with a lot more viable options.

Other SkyTeam options would be to try KE through ICN (maybe in combination with the KLM flight from DPS to SIN, which might be the cheapest way to get off of the island in business class), MU through PVG/PEK (using China TWOV) or maybe China Air through TPE.

The idea of flying to Eu (AMS, CDG, etc) and then a separate ticket to London is worth looking at. As is MAN, EDI (Qatar or ???)
You spending $200 may be better than you long haul flying in economy.
From Asia to UK(Eu) there are many options. And even more people wanting business awards after the Christmas - New Year holiday time.
Or just buy from the Amex travel portal at 1 point = $0.01 or what ever rate for you.
Good luck
Please report back when you find a seat

This is extremely important with Flying Blue. If you do not have an existing account with them suggest reading the Flying Blue forum before transferring large amounts of miles. Many people have found them stranded.
