Can anyone help with experience traveling from CA to Thailand. Of course we are looking for the shortest and cheapest route in business class. We want to use our points from our credit cards, specifically our Chase cards/Chase Ultimate Rewards. We had an outrageous event happen a year ago when traveling through China, so we WILL NOT fly in or out of China. Please share with us!!

What ffp's do you ff miles with now?
You seem to have had some travelling experience before. (Some other FT newbie's do not)
Shortest & cheapest with Chase may not be complementary.

What we have found & what we want..
We belong to Kris Flyer, United and Alaska frequent flyer programs. We are a Star Alliance member. We have not transferred any points yet but have about 275,000 points between 2 of us. We have found that United goes from San Francisco to Singapore, direct. Singapore Airlines goes from LAX to Singapore. We don't mind a layover but not a long layover, 2 hours is ideal. We will not fly into China. Has anyone ever flown from California to Kuala Lumpor or California to Bangkok? Our final destination ia Krabi, Thailand. Flights into Krabi come from Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpor.

Award Nexus can search multiple options simultaneously for various programs. Log in with your FlyerTalk info.

Take a look at all of the UR transfer partners to make sure you are aware of the various possibilities. Then see what's available with those programs either by searching individually and/or using Award Nexus.
If you can't find award seats all the way to your final destination, you may need to consider getting as close as you can (e.g., Bangkok) then booking a separate flight or other transportation to the final destination (leaving adequate time between separately-booked tickets of course).
Off the top of my head I'm not sure you have enough UR points to transfer to any partner for 2 business class tickets to BKK or environs, unless you have existing mileage balances in one of the UR transfer partner programs - but you should confirm this using Award Hacker and the airlines' sites. Also play around with Award Hacker with different destinations, as you may have enough to get to somewhere else in Asia (perhaps Japan) that has a lower-priced award zone in one of the applicable frequent flyer programs, then buy separate tickets from there to your final destination.
