Multiple tickets (on different ticket stock) on same PNR

Suppose I have a ticket for a flight that I want to take, and a ticket for positioning flights. The tickets are on different carriers (on different ticket stock), but on the same PNR.

So I have one ticket that's AAA-BBB round trip, and another ticket that's BBB-CCC round trip. The chronological ordering of the coupons is AAA-BBB-CCC-BBB-AAA. Again, AAA-BBB is on different ticket stock than BBB-CCC.

What are the effects of having the two tickets on the same PNR?

Do I get misconnect protection? (my understanding is, no)
Are the change/cancellation policies changed (ie, are the most restrictive policies inherited across tickets? My understanding is no)

If my understanding is correct -- is there any effect to having them on the same PNR? In particular, is there any benefit? Is it just so that if there are IRROPS, the carrier can see the other ticket, so they can try to route me in a way that makes sense?

So AAA-BBB (eticket 1), BBB-CCC-BBB (eticket 2), BBB-AAA (eticket 1) all in 1 PNR.
Nested return is not that unusual with airlines or travel agents that sell these type of tickets.
And can be if different GDS like amadeus & sabre.
The other airline may also a PNR that you do not see (or are aware of). PNR is just the plain manilla folder that hold the info.
Protection will depend on the carriers & ticket t&c's. I would expect protection.
For example AA would not interline checked baggage, as per the defined AA interline rules on separate tickets. But QF would as interline on the same PNR
There is no 1 simple answer. Will depend on the exact circumstance and ticket t&c's.

The flights are:

Ticket 1: SFO-JFK. AS marketed and operated

Ticket 2: JL ticket stock:
JFK-SEA is AS marketed and operated
SEA-NRT-BKK-NRT-SEA is JL marketed and operated
SEA-JFK is AS marketed and operated

Ticket 1: JFK-SFO. AS marketed and operated

Ticket 1 is AS Ticket stock. Ticket 2 is JL ticket stock.

I have status on AS (MVPG, giving me free SDC, changes, and cancellations). No status on JL.

Basically I want to know if my ability to change my ticket 1 (eg, to SDC for free, or possibly to outright cancel the first leg should I happen to already find myself in NY at that time) will be affected by ticket 2.

I assume that I can make changes to ticket 1 (including outright canceling it) without affecting ticket 2 at all (ie, it doesn't need to be refared / reissued)
I also assume that the mere presence of ticket 2 on the PNR will not affect my ability to make those changes.

I understand that coupons on a single ticket must be flown in order, and no-showing for one will cause all future coupons to be canceled. I assume that that is not true for different tickets on the same PNR.

Are these assumptions correct?

Will depend on the exact circumstance and ticket t&c's.
Cash or award tickets?
My uneducated opinion/guess is no & no, but only the airlines know for sure.
Phone AS and ask them

Seems like a bad idea. Phone agents give incorrect information all the time. The information on FT is much more accurate in aggregate. Crowdsourcing FTW...

Completely unrelated topic; in that thread I'm asking how the ticket will earn miles on AS. AS has some strange policies of crediting partner code-shares and they don't follow the policies on their website (they are more permissive than their website indicates) so I'm trying to clarify.

I have a somewhat complex itinerary and I'm asking for details about how things will work. I'm not sure why you have a problem with that.
