Question about peak and off peak hours on Spirit

First time poster, so apologies if I break any protocols here!

A few weeks ago, Spirit extended their booking window. My family and I are traveling to Orlando the week before Thanksgiving. The flight down is off peak, the flight back falls in their peak schedule.

The rate for the flight back is over 4x the flight down making the total ticket as much, if not more than an American Airlines ticket. How likely is it that the peak rate drops eventually? Or I am just better off booking the American flights now?

No one here can predict if tickets will go up or down. But seeing you are travelling close to a big travelling holiday date, it might stay the same or go up. Here is my take. Seeing that AA is about the same as Spirit, and I presume that you are taking into account seat cost, luggage, etc, I will book the AA ticket. The main reason is that most likely AA has more than one flight a day to your destination, or more routing options, as opposed to Spirit.
