Looking for good Thanksgiving weekend airfare/points from NYC
I've been looking for the past 2 weeks and haven't been able to find a good airfare using cash, points or both for the Thanksgiving weekend departing from NYC on the evening of Wednesday, November 21 and returning on Sunday, November 25. Each of us needs a suitcase and that increases the cheapest airline's fares by about $100 each.
The two of us went to Paris last year on openskies for 52K Merrill Lynch points plus $270, I had booked this in the end of June.
Any suggestions?

Have you checked the premium fare deals subforum of the mileage runs forum? Turkey day week is a slow period for business travel, and various carriers tend to run some sales. If you can avoid domestic connections on your travel dates, flights will be empty--to be filled with nonrevs.

Seems like most European destinations are quite reasonable that weekend.
