KLM no show
Hello everyone,
I had my internship in Galapagos and because I ended earlier I wanted to go to Quito for couple of days so I send a message to KLM to ask about changing flight. They said that there are no flights avalible before, so I looked on the internet and there were cheap flights avalible, so I bought ticket Galapagos-Quito. My flight was Galapagos-Guayaquil, Guayaquil-Lima. So I also bought ticket Quito-Guayaquil, because then I wanted to continue my flight. As I came to the check-in in Guayaquil, they said my flight was cancelled. I didn't knew that if I don't take one flight , that further flights are going to be cancelled. I'm 22 and it is the first time that I travelled alone. I really didn't knew that, otherwise I would cancel my flight from Galapagos. Is there something I can do? Please help. Thank you. Regards. |

Is there something I can do? Send a message to KLM on Twitter and see if they can help in any way. But you should never again knowingly miss any flight on ANY ticket, as you therefore will have all remaining flights cancelled (unless it is a very expensive, flexible ticket which can be "salvaged" in such circumstances). You should never knowingly miss a flight without first contacting the airline and explaining your intention.

ARTICLE 8: CHECK-IN/BOARDING
8.1 Check-In Deadlines (CID) vary from one airport to another. Should the Passenger fail to do so or should the Passenger not present all the documents allowing them to be checked-in and therefore be unable to travel, the Carrier may cancel Passenger’s Reservation and seat reserved for such Passenger, without having any further obligation towards the relevant Passenger and without any liability on the part of the Carrier. 8.3 Passengers must be present at the boarding gate prior to the boarding time specified at check-in. The Carrier shall be entitled to cancel a Passenger’s Reservation and seat reserved for such Passenger if the Passenger is not present at the boarding gate at the latest by the boarding time specified to the Passenger, without having any further obligation towards the relevant Passenger and without any liability on the part of the Carrier. 8.4 The Carrier shall have no obligation (including, without limitation, no obligation to carry or pay a refund) or liability whatsoever towards a Passenger who has not complied with the conditions of this Article. |
Did you purchase the ticket directly from KLM, either in a ticket office (if one still exists near you) or on their website? Was it purchased through the outfit that arranged your internship or some university/student group? Or did you buy it from a travel agent or an OLTA?
