Multi-city flights
 

Hi all, firstly, this is not a strictly BA query but you are all usually so helpful and this is the only part of the site I read.

We are looking to book a trip (itinerary below) and was wondering if there is a website that you can look at to price things up. AA.com works as the return legs are on AA but the problem I am having is that I can't include the Jetblue Cayman to JFK on this.

The price that I am getting (excluding the GCM to JFK leg) is also higher than what a travel agent has quoted for the whole thing.

JETBLUE 24MAR CAYMAN – JFK 2.20pm arrive 7.12pm
CATHAY PACIFIC 25MAR JFK – HKG 1.30am arrive 5.15am 26MAR
AA 08APR TOKYO – DALLAS 10.40am arrive 8.25am connect at 10.55am arrive CAYMAN 2.10pm

(Note: ignore the HKG to Tokyo, this will be booked separately)

I haven't really booked a flight like this before so would appreciate any advice.

ITA Matrix, Google Flights, Kayak, Expedia, etc.

There may not be fare(s) published that combine to book on one ticket though, or may be very expensive compared to booking some segments separately. A real travel agent may be your best bet.

Never mind strictly, wasn't someone grumbling on here the other day about posts that had nothing at all to do with BA? ;-)

Anyway...

Are you set on just this specific combination of flights?

I assume you've never tried to use online travel sites (opodo, expedia, cheapoair) or sites that give you potential routings and prices (google flights, dohop.com) - they will be the ones to give you prices for these sorts of more complex routings. I'll comment that if you want to travel on these specific flights under these codes, it's likely to be tricky, as you'd need fares that allow you to combine the different carriers (Cathay, AA). And for tricky, read expensive.

But from looking at, eg cheapoair, I see that you can actually get the entire journey on AA (including the AA code on the CX flight, which brings the price down to sensible levels), and on google flights it gives a quote for the same itinerary but using the Cayman Airways flight at the start (which is a bit more expensive). In pounds, I'm seeing £1300 and £1500 respectively for the two options, but you'll be quoted something different in a different area of sale, probably...

But try those options first, would be my recommendation! Good luck!

Thanks, the Cheapoair looks like a good site - are they reputable? The cayman airways flight means less time waiting in JFK and is the same price as i'm being quoted from the travel agent.

I used to use Skyscanner but found it more useful when I want to book short direct flights and don't have the flexibility of dates.
