Forward planning
Hi, I'm planning to travel to Oz in April 2018 for the Commonwealth Games and Tokyo in August 2020 for the Olympics.
I'm looking for some advice as to which flyer/loyalty/points programs would be best for me. I don't do a lot of longhaul travel so guess that something like Avios would be better but would appreciate any advice. Normally travel from Manchester so would transit through a European city like Madrid, Amsterdam or Frankfurt. thanks |
No one can accurately predict what award availability and programs will be like in the future.
How do you plan on earning the large number of miles needed? |
saintupnorth Welcome to FT
Look and ask here http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/infor...help-here.html How will you earn the ff miles/avios/points? Getting an award ticket can be hard, especially at peak times (Christmas, Easter, Olympics, etc). Note that BA (and QF/EK) have award cash surcharges, so always check the cash price. For Aussie, domestic fares can be cheap so do not concentrate on getting to Brisbane BNE/ Gold Coast OOL direct from UK. Flights UK/Eu to Australia is very competitive, with many airlines. The middle east & Asian/Chinese airline often have lowish fares on sale. |
Thanks, I'll have a read :)
