award space for LAN flight and using amex/citi points

I'm looking at traveling to peru in May and LAN has a great itinerary option and reasonable price for business class.

I understand they are usually pretty reserved on award availability.

I know amex or citi doesn't have direct points transfer to their FF program so I'm wondering which/if any of my credit card xfer partners could be used to find and book a possible business class reward.

Thanks

Amex MR transfer partners BA, CX Asia Miles.

Citi TYR AA, QR, CX Asia Miles, MH.

Now finding availability is the not easy part. Some require phone in to find inventory. Some have online portals that show LA inventory. Not all LATAM divisions are available award bookings via partners.

I think you may be confused. The pricing of business class awards depends on who you book through, not which airline you fly. So if you looked at a LAN award chart, that doesn't apply unless you are using LAN kilometers!

BA Avios pricing for LAN business class trips is ridiculous. It tends to be about 1.5x what AA charges for the same flight.

But the problem is that AA often has problems seeing LAN inventory. So sometimes you see LAN inventory on BA and call AA and they can book, and sometimes they can't see the inventory that you saw and they can't book it. And sometimes LAN inventory can be seen on LAN's site but not seen on any other site:
(The above threads are all from the LATAM** forum.)

So I'm not sure what to recommend, because I don't know the relative reliability with each of the other airlines you can transfer to of seeing LAN availability.

And LAN availability itself is hit or miss.

** LAN is now officially called LATAM, since its merger with TAM.

OK, thanks

I obviously didn't know about the merger and that they were now LATAM

I would've posted in that forum otherwise. I just scanned the airline forums quickly and didn't see LAN so posted here.
