wanting to start.
Here is my situation will be leaving out of DFW. I am wanting to earn miles, so I can take my wife on some nice adventures. Her health is bad, so I will be making Mile runs then use them for nicer trips for us. So what are some good Mile runs or how do I start. all suggestions appreciated

I would start by determine what your goal is, for example destinations/airlines/class. If your goal is to travel SQ Suites for example doing an AA mileage run would be pointless.

You may also find simply buying miles when on sale cheaper and obviously less time consuming than mileage runs.

You're probably best off just buying tickets than doing what you are contemplating. It will be cheaper and faster.

The easiest way to acquire miles is to get a new credit card and spend enough money on it to get a bonus offer. You can also buy them from the airline for less than they might be worth if used for First Class travel. Earning miles by flying has become much harder and now requires buying more expensive tickets.

The big problem comes when you try to use them and can't take the flights you want when you want to. You can use them provided you have flexibility and can either plan a year ahead or take what is available at short notice.

As has been pointed out, if you can plan to use sale fares then the cheapest way may well be to simply buy tickets. If you do it enough then you may also accumulate miles!

Mileage runs strictly for RDM are pretty much dead these days on AA, UA, and DL. Since they only accrue based on spend I wouldn't expect those to have much value to you. Pursuing credit card sign ups or just looking for fare sales is likely to be more rewarding.
