BMO Rewards gone wrong
Hi all
please move this message if wrong. I booked my ticket via BMO rewards card on Feb. 25th. I received email with ticket confirmation. Today I went to the airport to check in and the airline told me that the ticket was voided by BMO rewards center. so I was unable to catch the plane. Today is a also Sunday, so the BMO rewards center is closed. Because of this, i have missed one connection flight and one important business meeting. my question is how likely is BMO going to compensate for this? i bought my ticket 3 month ago now the prices are different, it is a lot higher. will BMO rewards pay for the difference? the difference is about 2000 dollars plus another missed flight. any inputs would be greatly appreciated, i will be called them first thing tomorrow morning. |
Only BMO can tell you why they voided the ticket.
Getting compensation will be hard. No one really compensates for consequential lose. FT cannot answer on behalf on BMO. https://www.bmorewards.com/en/landing.html |
Welcome to FT, arrowhid!
You'll obviously need to check with BMO what happened here; we simply have no way of knowing (perhaps the ticket was never issued, perhaps there was a problem with you account, etc). Two other things which you may not want to hear...I think it is highly unlikely that BMO will compensate you at all for consequential damages (whether or not it's their fault doesn't matter, no one pays consequential damages), and secondly, you technically didn't have a connection, you had two completely unrelated flights. The fact that you didn't show up for your second one means you almost certainly lost the value of that ticket as well. Have you checked with your travel insurance provider on what they can do for you? |
