Eurowings or Finnair to Bangkok

HI Guys;

Hopefully I am asking this in the correct forum, I am about to book flights from Dublin to Thailand. The 2 choices (cheapest) flights are with either Eurowings or Finnair.

Has anyone flown with either and would you recommend an airline. Obviously they are both budget so I am not expecting anything amazing but any info would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Finnair is a full-service carrier—not a budget carrier—at least as far as the long-haul segment is concerned.

Are you a member of any mileage programs?

I would also suggest Finnair.

I've flown Finnair, and I really enjoyed the experience !

I'd never do a budget carrier in such a long flight. Even if Finnair has cheapened themselves like SAS did (don't know, never flown them) then I'd still take them over an actual budget carrier.

Mileage program is a big influence for myself on which carrier I choose, so personally I'd pay a bit more for a full service Star Alliance carrier. Finnair is OneWorld if you're using one of their programs, but OneWorld has a lot of non-earning fares on budget tickets so wouldn't count on earning much anyway.

Eurowings in this context is just a LH 343 with a new livery on the side.

Finnair is not a budget carrier and one of the daily flights is on the new A350 which is a nice ride.

Hi Sheriff2, welcome to FT.

I'm going to move this thread to the Information Desk Forum, where you may get more help.

Neither one is a budget carrier. Go with the best price/schedule and you'll be fine. A LH economy flight is never going to be the highlight of your life.

Stay away from Eurowings for now, at this point they have only 2 or 3 planes for their long distance flights, horror stories about extreme delays abund.

Forgot about that, saw that as well. Another strong reason for going Finnair.

Which has improved over the Last weeks since LH brought another plane in providing more slack to the Operation...now they have another plane permanently available doing the DXB turns and as standby on the days that this destination is not served.

Greetings - Dirk
