Sleeping on Long Flights
 

I am going to take my first transpacific flight in Bus Class on CX. Does CX
provide pajamas ? If no, what do You wear when sleeping on these flights ?
Whatever you are wearing that day or do you change into something like
sweats,shorts,etc ???

Some of us wear very comfortable clothing for travel, even if the airline provides pyjamas (iirc CX does not, in Business) because the number and size of most airplane lavs are not conducive to quick changes. That's certainly what I've done over the last decades of flying, regardless of which class of service or the pyjamas offering.

Most airlines offer PJs in First, but not in Business. (I went to China on AA last year, one way in each. They followed the pattern.) Do whatever is comfortable. Nobody is going to think less of you for changing into sweatpants or anything else, as long as you meet the usual standards of public decency. Besides, so what if they do? It's not like you'll ever see any of them again.

I like joging pants, sometimes AA PJ's are a little long.

Wait till the plane takes off to change....

For me, as long as I'm not wearing jeans or rough trousers (such as some of the less refined woolen trousers available) I'm comfortable enough to sleep. I don't feel obligated to change from say, a loose pair of khakis to pjs or sweats. Something like your average pair of Dockers or Dickies is comfortable enough for me that I can sleep without problems.

So no, I don' change into shorts or sweats. My carryon space is often limited by business or school materiel, so I don't have a lot of extra room.

I forget whether CX keeps the cabin warm, but some airlines do. So make sure you have a short-sleeve shirt handy in case you want to wear or change into it.

And as others have said, good to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes or at least have them handy to change into.

You might also want to bring ear plugs and good eye shades to shut out the noise and light. CX likely provides them in your amenity kit, but the shades in particular aren't as good as those you can get in a travel store.

CX in business class is very nice. Have a great trip!

It's been 10+ years since I flew CX biz class but they didn't offer it that time.

I normally embark wearing most comfortable layered clothing and nice loose "workout" pants and bring a set of clothes I want to be seen at the arrival. If there is a hop/transit on the flight with enough transit time, I will take a shower and change. If not, around 2 hours before landing, I "freshen up" in the lavatory and change my clothes.

I also wear a lace up shoes or a sandal since my feet seem to swell up after a long flight.

You find it easier to sleep in Dockers than in jeans? Woah, different strokes.

You should both look into investing in some (light) moleskin trousers. Much nicer and more comfortable than either.

Or Tommy Bahama drawstring combed cotton pajama pants. Heaven!

I don't think I can get moleskin trousers locally, but maybe in the big city. I live a fair ways out of any major city.

I simply prefer khakis to a pair of jeans which I find binding and very heavy. Most khakis are cut in a more generous manner than regular, average jeans. I am not willing to spend the kind of money on designer jeans. For me, a splurge is a new pair of Wranglers. I used to wear a lot of Levis, but again, they tend to shrink in all the wrong places.

CKA1, I get all my jeans at Old Navy for $30. I get the loose fitting ones which are extremely comfortable and not binding in the least, your legs can breathe.
