Checked Baggage Query

I am flying from Orlando to Malaga In Spain on American Airlines.

They've routed me MCO ==> MIA==> Madrid==> Malaga

I see on their site transatlantic flights have no charges for your first checked bag. While domestic has a $25 fee

Now The Stupid Questions! (I usually just travel with a carry on.. can't remember the last time i checked anything in!)

Does all of this flight get Classed as TransAtlantic?

Will I hand in the bag at Orlando and pick it up again at Malaga or will i need to collect it at each stop?

Thanks

Because your entire itinerary is international, your baggage charges (or waivers) will be handled as international.

You will pick up your baggage only in Malaga. You will go through a passport check in Madrid, but you won't have to pick up your bags there.

Thanks, That's what I was hoping!

On your return you will need to collect your luggage to go through customs on your first point of entry into the US.
