Current award travel to PPT?

Anyone have any idea how many miles one can expect to use for economy class from the US (prob LAX) to PPT (Papeete)? I know it used to be 75k with AA and maybe some others but I just tried a bunch of random dates but no luck. Thanks!

Economy redemptions, all one-ways:
BA Avios: 25k
Asia Miles: 25k (45k Round-trip)
United: 35k
AA: 37.5k

"BA Avios: 25k"

Nope. No BA partner flies LAX-PPT direct.

How did you "try" those random dates? TN is not one of those partners whose award seats can be displayed at aa.com.

Whoops you're right, I got misled by them being an AA partner but not a BA one.

Which Asia Miles partner flies US-PPT? I don't see TN, HA, or AF on their partner list, and I thought those were all the airlines that flew such a route.

I was going by http://www.economicalexcursionists.com/travelTools/ which said those routes have service, I now realize the tool might've lumped in Air Nui Tahiti as a general oneworld partner when it's only an AA partner...

Guess one would have to fly LAX-DFW/LIM/MEX-SCL-IPC-PPT, which ticks in at 60k avios one-way.

Yeah, as far as I know, the only 3 airlines that fly US-PPT are Air Tahiti, Air France, and Hawaiian. Air France releases almost no availability, even in economy it seems. Hawaiian only flies the route 1x per week. So that leaves Air Tahiti, not a bad option:
  • Decent availability, often ~6 seats in Y, 2 in J released per flight when schedule opens up. No additional seats open up except in the case of cancellations I believe.
  • Can be booked with AA (37.5k/62.5k) or DL (50k/80k) (one way Y / one way J)

Maybe the fact that it can't be searched on any airlines' website helps with TN availability, but I'm glad for it. I'm booked in J round trip for June 2016.

Wrong on Air France. It's WIDE OPEN on Alaska for Y. J forget it. It's 8 hrs so I can endure Y if I have too.

Tried using JAL award engine, but nothing shows up. I'm limited in Alaska earning options so I've a 2-3 year plan to use Alaska cc signup bonuses. And SPG top up if needed.

I just checked using KVStool randomly starting April 1st, and the first results...

April 2nd & 5th: AF non-stop in Y

so definitely availability there.

With DL miles, you can fly AF or Air Tahiti Nui, both from LAX. The latter has better availability but worse aircraft with IIRC old recliner seats in business class.
