Multiple Airline Luggage Allowance

Hi all,

I'll be flying ZAG-ZRH with Croatia Airlines and ZRH-CDG with Swiss. Which luggage rules would apply to me? The first leg or the second? (I bought the cheapest ticket on kayak)

Tried to find my answer on the forum but only found for flights within USA or International...

Thanks for your help :D

Update: found the answer :)

That probably would be irrelevant given that they are not only interline but Star Alliance partners. Please note that this is the Miles and Points Information Desk, and your query doesn't involve miles or points.

The rules of baggage allowance are determined by the validating airline of the ticket. If the ticket number begins with 724, the ticket is validated on Swiss and Swiss baggage rules apply. Also, since Croatia codeshares with Swiss, it is likely that if the ticket number begins with 724, the flight numbers both begin with LX. That would also confirm that Swiss rules apply. The two letter code for Croatia is OU. If the flight numbers begin with OU, Croatia rules apply. My guess is that Swiss will be the validating carrier.
