~10 Hour Layover, What To Do? (SIN)

Hello,

I have a flight on SQ (J) landing in SIN at approx 0730 with a "connecting" flight at night at about 2330.

Does anyone know if Singapore offers anything like TK? TK offers a free tour of Istanbul via bus for long layovers. If not, any ideas as to what to do for that period of time, we would like to explore Singapore for a couple hours, is this possible?

PS. Connecting flight is in Suites so we would like to enjoy the lounge for a bit.

There's some sort of a complimentary Singapore city tour for folks in your situation. I believe it's run by the airport rather than by SQ, but am not sure. Sorry I don't know more about it.

Regardless, you should definitely take advantage of The Private Room, the lounge exclusively for SQ first class passengers. Very good service, ambiance, bubbly and meals available there. You can access it at any point in your connection. Just make sure you have your onward F boarding pass in hand. (You should get it when you check in for your J flight.) I don't know the hours, so you might check on that, but I'd assume it's open during your connection time. I'd also assume it has showers to freshen up, though I haven't used them myself.

Also, give yourself some time just to wander around the SIN airport itself if you've never been there before. Quite the scene. In particular, the Butterfly Garden is worth a visit.

Finally, if you decide you want to lie down for a rest during the long connection, there are airport hotels inside (i.e., you don't have to pass through security) that I believe offer reasonably priced rooms in four-hour blocks. Guests often need to book them well in advance, however.

Thank you for all the info! I have never been to Singapore so I will surely be taking in all the scenes. I will look into the airport tour bus for sure. As for the laying down, plenty of time of that in the suites! ;)

You may just be passing through this tiny island-state, but let Singapore’s sights and sounds, colours and beats, energy and electricity enthrall you on the Free Singapore Tour. If you have at least 5.5 hours (or at least 6 hours for City Lights Tour) to spare till your connecting flight, join one of our free 2.5 hours guided tours with 2 short stopovers. The Heritage Tour runs 4 times daily and the City Lights Tour runs twice daily.

Tons to do, depending on what floats your boat. Book a day room at a hotel and chill out by their pool, get a massage, do some shopping on Orchard Road...endless fun!

As the OP has already been advised to post this question in the applicable Destinations forum, we'll go ahead and close the thread here and direct folks to continue providing assistance in the applicable thread.
