Need to book an award flight from NY to MIA. Business class and first are a lot so I am considering coach. My options are Delta, AA or US Airways. Which are the most comfortable and most room out of all of them? I would normally choose JetBlue, but they do not fly to MIA, only WPB it seems.

For when? US Airways coded flights disappear in October.

But in coach, you'll not find much difference on any of them on an east coast flight. If you want more room, you may have to pay for it these days - and it might not be available on the lowest miles awards.

Are "SPG Flights" flights you book directly with SPG, or are you planning to transfer Starpoints to an FFP and book an award flight directly with the carrier? If the latter, transferring Starpoints to the British Airways executive Club, and then redeeming just 7,500 Avios for a SAAver Coach award seat on an AA NYC-MIA nonstop would be the most cost-effective option. Just make sure that such seats are available before you transfer any of your points.

But fares between NYC and Florida are often surprisingly low. Make sure that you'd be getting decent value from your versatile Starpoints before using them for an award ticket.

And FYI, JetBlue flies to FLL. ;)

hmm, didn't know about FLL. However, flying into MIA is 10k in points, where as flying into FLL is 15k (JetBlue). The trip is in end of Sept. or early Oct. I have a boat load of points and rather not spend $$$. In terms of British Airways. How does that work? I transfer from SPG to BA and place the order through their website? Never used BA before, so I am unfamiliar with their service.

Step 1: Go to ba.com, and sign up for a BAEC account (free).

Step 2: Search aa.com for "SAAver" Coach award seats on NYC-MIA nonstops, which AA offers from the three major NYC airports. If available, these seats will show up as requiring 12,500 AA miles, but since you won't be redeeming AA miles, that's irrelevant.

Step 3: If you find SAAver Coach seats on AA nonstops, transfer 7,500 Starpoints to your BAEC account.

Step 4: When your 7,500 BA "Avios" show up in your BAEC account, make a reward booking on ba.com for the NYC-MIA nonstop on AA.

CAVEAT: Transfers from SPG to BAEC are not instantaneous. There is always the possibility that the award seats you found before you initiated the transfer will no longer be available once the transfer is completed.

There are other points that transfer to BAEC faster: Amex MR and Chase UR. And it is also possible to earn BAEC Avios directly, with the Chase/BA Visa card.
