Flight Query
 

Hi All,

So I'm now looking at pricing my flights for upcoming holidays and I have a query.

I live in BHX, to get cheap Business Class tickets I will be flying from Dublin (DUB). My question is (and I suspect this has been asked, I can't find an answer)

• Lets say I book DUB - MIA - DUB.
• The actual route is DUB - LHR - MIA - LHR - DUB.

1. Are they allowed/able to tag my bags for LHR allowing me to disembark at LHR?
2. If so is it just a simple instruction to the check in agent? What do I need to do?

It's called hidden city ticketing and really only works if traveling with carry on luggage only. If you have a long (ideally overnight) layover at LHR it is much easier to get them to short check your bags.

If you wish to claim your bags for a long layover but will still continue on to your destination, that is not considered hidden city ticketing. If you plan to collect your bags and skip your remaining flight(s), that is hidden city ticketing and will potentially cause you any number of problems.
