MAD > CDG - Which Airline

In July We will be taking a one way flight from MAD to CDG. I see some choices in airlines but am not too familiar with any of them. Any advice on what to stay away from and what is an OK airline. I know Ryanair is a bare minimum airline and everything is an extra. But not really familiar with any of the others.

Traveling will be my wife, my 9 month old son, and I. We will have 2 checked bags plus carry ons, and would like to gate check a stroller.

Airlines:

Transavia
Ryanair
Vueling
Air Europa
AIr France

Does it have to be CDG? There's also service from MAD to ORY.

Do you have any frequent-flyer miles/credit-card points you'd like to use?

Take a train - city centre to city centre

Have you flown lost European airlines before? A big difference in the way they operate compared to USA

Does not have to be CDG.

We have miles with United, AA, and Ultimate Rewards. Tickets seem pretty inexpensive so I would probably save my miles for a longer flight.

Iberia doesn't fly this route?

If you can find award seats on Iberia, BA would charge just 4.5K Avios per person.

If that doesn't work out, of the airlines you listed I would go with Air France all else equal

Iberia does not serve CDG, but it does fly MAD-ORY.

Not sure what the cash co-pays are on a 4,500-BA Avios redemption for MAD-ORY on IB, but I believe that such awards include one free checked bag per passenger. Don't know about the baggage allowances on the LCCs that fly MAD-PAR.

@:-) whichever is cheapest? By cheapest i do not mean just fare, I mean including baggage fees, assigned seats etc.

Train. : - Ask here on FT http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/europ...il-travel-654/

It is better not to book via 3rd party web sites

Be very careful the add on's. What is included in USA may (will?) be an $$ extra with Eu LCC's
Plus the $ & time to/from the airports

Looking at the train suggestions are nice but they do not appear to be direct. With luggage and a baby in tow that may be a bit difficult.
