Best card for business class travel in Canada

Due to business purchases, I end up spending $250-300k a year on my credit card. I’m currently using the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Privilege card where I get 1.25 RBC points for every dollar spent.

I don’t travel frequently, max 1 or 2 trips a year, and usually to Europe, where I prefer to fly business class. So for me to earn lots of points that can only be used for economy flights is worthless.

I’ve found the best deal with my current card has been to transfer my RBC points to British Airways Avios points. Twice a year I can convert 1 RBC point to 1.50 Avois points, so I can build up Avois points very quickly (if I spend $250k spent in a year, that can convert to close to 470k Avios points!)

The problem is, is that there are NEVER any seats available to use Avios points on. If I look at Vancouver to Paris right now, there is not a single business class seat available for the next 12 months that can be redeemed with Avios points (the only seats available are cash-purchased seats). So I’m finding it extremely difficult to use my current points.

What I am looking for is some advice on the best card/program for me to use given that I just want to fly to Europe in business class once or twice a year.

Many thanks in advance!

twbb Welcome to FT

For questions on avois ask in the BA forum. As for Canada to France also look at SEA-LHR or SEA-LHR-CDG. Paris is train trip from London. But ex UK has high UK government taxes. Only a little less for France

And look at http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/infor...help-here.html
