award flight carrier surcharge ?
I found Singapore airlines have fees of almost 500 $ for carrier surcharges on business class seats for award international flights. Do other airlines have just as high carrier surcharge fees when booking an award flight ? Korean air, Asiana, etc..

So are almost all the European and Asian airlines.
And even AA when booking on BA passes the surcharges on to you. Delta also passes surcharges on to you if your residence is in Europe (maybe anywhere outside the US).

Isn't Cathay pacific relatively cheap with their surcharges ? I saw it came out to below 200$ for same seats on international award flights.. and you said British airways is expensive ? Can't you get Cathay pacific award tikets from BA ?

All airlines flying in/out of HKG have the same surcharges - its has nothing to do with BA or CX.
