USA-Egypt in December on award tickets
 

Usually I try and refrain from posting 'Help me figure out X award'...but for once, I'm truly stuck.

DL award pricing is through the roof (165k/pp in economy).

Have a boatload of AA points, but to/from East Coast & Cairo is 4 stops in each direction.

What are the best options, east coast to Cairo in December, from a mileage standpoint?

Willing to do something that gets me to Frankfurt or AMS or CDG or MAD, as long as I can get a one-stop to Cairo after that.

Anyone do an North Africa award redemption recently?

If it has to be Cairo, did you call AA to check availability, or did you rely on aa.com for your award search? Neither EY nor QR will come up on an award search at aa.com.

Doh! Stupid me. No, didn't call AA.

And yes, it has to be Cairo. Going for an invite-only travel agent FAM trip...so kind of limited w/ dates and options.
