Can we have an alert when replying to a thread over X time since last post? Ie if last post was more than 1 year ago, system asks "are you sure you wish to post? Last post is dated over one year ago. Yes/No?" If over two years it requires a moderator's approval or thread is just automatically Closed to new posts.
Way too frequent posts where (especially new users, who've been directed to FT by a Google/Yahoo search) user doesn't realize the thread is many years old.

According to the post above, this is not the right place for this thought, but I can't find anywhere that seems more appropriate.
Have we been Kondo-ed? I am finding FT more difficult to use since the recent decluttering. I actually liked being able to hover over a topic and see the small first post blurb, because not all topic titles are written as clearly as they could be and it was handy for figuring out whether I'd already read or might want to read that thread. It was also useful to see each poster's info at a glance to the left of each comment rather than having to click on names to see whether someone likely is reliable (number of posts, status with the program they're commenting on, location, etc.). I also preferred being able to select a page within a thread, particularly when reading very long threads. And I'm struggling to search within threads, although to be fair I could just be missing a new location for "search this thread," as I can't imagine that's actually gone, considering how frequently that's pointed out to people.
Am I alone?
Thanks, especially if I've posted this in the wrong place.

I give up. Member for years, constant reader for years. Cannot locate any of the information that i depend on for reviews of hotels, Hawaiian Islands, airlines, information for disabled travelers, California, New York, etc., etc. What happened? To whom is flyertalk aimed? Once again., I give up.

That's controlled by a setting you can change. I just don't remember offhand where that setting is or what's it's called. But I set mine years ago to remain at showing threads page by page, and it's still doing so (at least in Chrome -- someone mentioned recently in another thread that there may be browser variations in how FT works right now).

This forum is for suggestions how to improve the "Information Desk" forum on Flyertalk. If you have problems with emails you are receiving from someone, I suggest you raise that elsewhere. If it is related to Flyertalk generally, this may be the place https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/suggestion-box-756/
