Lufthansa schedule change refund
Hello everyone.
I purchased a Lufthansa long-haul business class ticket from point A to B via Munich and Frankfurt. That is, I was to fly from A to Munich; from Munich to Frankfurt; and from Frankfurt to my final destination B. I just received an email from Lufthansa with a new flight route. This time, I fly from A to Munich and then direct to B, thus eliminating the Munich-Frankfurt leg. So this is less one flight and one airport tax for myself but also for Lufthansa. For me also one less "miles points". Yet I pay the same price. Do you think that now I am entitled to a refund for the eliminated flight leg? If so, what should I do? Thanks. |
Presuming that this is more than 14 days out, you are entitled to a refund of the difference between the fare for the route you booked and the fare for the route that you will now fly.
Since we have no idea what you mean by "A" and "B", nobody on FT can help you with other than generalities, but you should know that the elimination of the segment, does not necessarily reduce the fare. You are certainly entitled to a refund of any additional taxes paid for what would have been the xFRA segment. If this is within 14 days of departure, depending on the distance flown and the length of delay caused, you might also be entitled to EC 261/2004 compensation. Details really matter here. |
Thank you.
I need to check the fares of respective routes then. |
Since you also asked this question in the Lufthansa forum, where the Lufthansa experts can likely provide a better, more detailed answer than this forum is designed for, let's go ahead and close this thread and redirect others to the discussion here:
