Asia-based newbie in need of assistance!

Hello FT-ers,

I've just joined (hi!) after using FT as a lurker for a few months, but I have a question that I just can't seem to answer by myself.

I have a feeling that I'm just not being very smart about my miles, and wonder if you could recommend some ideas...

Here's some info about me to help you answer:

- My home airport is HKG
- I fly around 25-50k miles per year
- Travel for work into China, with a few trips per year to Japan, Singapore, Taiwan in Eco (usually Y or K, occasionally in discounted) and New Zealand (usually Prem Eco in fare A, E or O).
- Personal travel to BKK, Manila and occasionally (every 12-18months) Europe and NYC.
- I book my own travel for work so am not too restricted - however, traveling to so many locations means it's hard to get the benefits of one airline.
- No status right now, but a member of the following FFPs:
---Marco Polo - 40k+ Award Miles but only 4k Status Miles (also have Amex and Citi linked cards)
---Miles & More - 40k+ AMs, 24k SMs (SMs expire on 31 Dec 13 - annoyed with myself for not spotting this sooner!)
---Hainan Airlines Fortune Wings - 5k+ miles
---NZ Airpoints - $20 value (useful for domestic flights within NZ)

I want to get at least Silver status to have access to upgrades and also for decent lounge access - I get Priority Pass access through my c/c but they are generally poor quality.

Which FFP should I focus on building up? I'm unsure whether to stick with M&M or walk away once I redeem the AMs, or if I should build Cathay, sign up for Aegean or some other easy-status-builder, or if there's another solution I've missed. I haven't posted this in the Star Alliance or Oneworld forums because I am flexible about which one I commit to.
