How to get from DEL to Chandigarh?
I am arriving at 9pm in April '09 at DEL. I need to go to Chandigarh from there. I am looking for the quickest direct connections from DEL to Chandigarh, hopefully by road, no flights. What do people here use? Any ideas, thanks!

Either you can hire a taxi at the airport (probably will be expensive unless pre arranged).
Other option is to take the train at 04:30 am from Old Delhi railway station. Take a prepaid taxi from the airport to get to the Old Delhi station. You can find the trains schedule at www.cleartrip.com I would rather take a taxi or the first flight in the morning to get there but not the train. |
The airport taxis quote really high rates. You could try www.carzonrent.com (hertz affiliate in India) or avis.co.in (which bills your card as "Mercury Travels", its local affiliates name, so watch for that when you see your next statement) - their rates offered online are far cheaper than their rates they quote when you call them.
Or take a train as the man says.
