Need any help when in Bangalore?
Hey, I just happend to come across this website as I was browsing for some summer job. Well, thought- might as well use this for the same purpose. Any one visiting Bangalore ( Karnataka ), looking for companion, guide.... holla at me. I can help you out in any aspect of the stay, as long as its within my reach... I am not a professional. Gives me a great pleasure to help the deserving.. would also love to try and help , if your visit is goin to cover any of the other southern states. I dont seek money. I seek respect and love ....
lil' abt me :- I am an engineering student, I love music 'n partyin. I work for Radio. |
Can you recommend a hotel that is convenient for the new international airport (which, as far as I can work out, is to the north of the city)? We arrive late at night and leave again very early the next morning, so want somewhere as close as possible to the airport.

1) I would never have graduated 2) I would not have received any job offers 3) I could not have dared offer help to foreigners I know I left India almost 20 yrs ago - but did the education system really deteriorate this much in 20 years? I find that hard to believe. Sure, use this mode for texting on your cell, but please, when offering your services to those not familiar with India, it probably is more appropriate to use the proper language to give them confidence in your abilities. Please don't flame me... |
Thanx YAATRI and PINDI !
All right. Thanx Yaatri and Pindi for the feedback. Much appreciated and high respect. Never bothered about the slang, thinking it was fine as long as the message is conveyed to the other person. So lets keep it the way you guys think it ought to be. And I take the entire blame. Dont doubt on Indian education ( it might be worse, you never know Pindi ;)).

In the meantime CSDF !
Am sorry, I apologise.. Now I realise, I got to be more careful, when extending help. Thanx to YAATRI 'n PINDI. It would be better if yo can say when'll your visit be. Based on that i can check the availabilty of closest hotel. The airport hotel is ruled out since it'll be operational only by year end. And a few other hotels are under construcion. This international airport is called The Bengaluru International Airport ( BIAL ). It is scheduled to become operational in Apil this year.
AIRPORT HOTEL :- Within walking distane from the terminal building, a 321- room airport hotel is coming up.The hotel, due to become operational towards the end of the year, will be managed by the Oberoi Group, under its Trident Brand. It'll sport conference facilities, restaurants and a spa.The hotel will have a check in counter at the airport teerminal building.. likewise guests can check in from the hotel. BIAL to the city by Chopper ride : this would save travellers from long traffic snarls. The price that one would pay for a chopper ride from the airport to the city - one way - would be Rs 3500. If you can tell when would your vist be, i'll dig out more info abt the closest hotel. Courtesy - SUNDAY TIMES. |
Thanks, but the Oberoi hotel opens in November 2008. BIAL opens on the 30th March, as far as I can tell.
I fly to Bangalore on the 3rd of April (arriving 11pm) and leave again on the 4th (at 6.30am, so I need to get to the airport at 5am ish). So the nearer I can stay to the airport the better. I've been Googling and the closest thing I can find to Devanahalli is the Fantasy Golf Resort (!) which says it is only 10 minutes from BIAL. Do of you locals know anything about it? Failing all else, it looks like the Le Meridien Bangalore is the closest central hotel to BIAL. |

It was insulting to the person who asked a question, in good faith, upon the offer of help by the OP. |

The new BLR airport is way too far away to have anything but some resort hotels (expensive ones) within 15..20 km of it. Your best bet is to grit your teeth and stay in the lounge if it is open [it should be - and the new airport is reportedly rather nicer than the ugly old dump the old BLR airport was] |
