Suits and Tailors

Ha anyone had suits made in India? What were the prices like, the experience and the quality?

Going right now for a second fitting from Sanjay at Delhi Cloth House in Khan Market.

Wool suit and four shirts was less than Rs 10000 ($250). I picked the materials. I'll post contact info if you'd like.

But are you satisfied with the quality? How do you think it compares to western suits?

FYI, here's a similar thread on the topic:

Just picked up the suit and shirts. Quality is definitely comparable to US-made suits that one buys for less than $1000.

I'm quite happy with mine and the shirts. All-told cloth and tailoring for 4 shirts and a wool suit was just around Rs 10,000.

Everything came from Delhi Cloth House in Khan Market. Ask for Sanjay.

Vaish, near Rivoli is a good one. There is another Vaish on the left of Regal Bldg in Connaught Place. There is also Gaylords two or three shops leftward. I have used the last two in C.P. in the last 10 years. There are sevral other Taylors I have used over the last 25 years. The quality has improved drastically during the last 10 years. In the 80's I had to take my own interfacing. BTW, one of the sons of the Vaish near Rivoli was in my class in school. I have never used them.

My conversations with a HK based tailor indicated that the clothing material is not up to scratch compared to italian wool. would anyone know what a reliable website is to order high quality suit material ?
