Vacation in India
 

Any advice from someone who has done this?

I would like to take a month or so to see India and possibly Tibet.

I am retired so will have to watch costs just a bit. I am not too pickey so moderate accomodations will be fine. Luckily I love spicey foods!

I will be going by myself.

I am assuming some tour would be best?

And lastly, any idea on the availability of reward seats to India?

I am not sure what type of traveller you are , but if you are okay with 'roughing' it up a bit, but see the REAL india, I sugguest you pick up your self first the Lonely Planet guide to India from your local book store. I've travelled to over 30 countries, mostly back packed through by my self, and Lonely Planet was my bible and saviour!

Lonely planet also has a forum online which you can use to post your questions, and usually you get feed back from other travellers within hours.

India has a lot to offer and is generally low to moderately priced. It is also well connected. As always, tours are well organized and planned, but lack that freedom to explore things on your own.

I am retired so have the time.

I like to see more of the rural areas so to speak than the large cities.

I have about $9,000US to spend on this trip.

I am going by myself.
