Hi...I'm travelling to India next week also...I've booked tickets for those buses that take you from Delhi to the Punjab...and yeah I was wondering also how they are? My main concerns are how long it'll take to get there...I'm going to Banga...and how many stops there are and if there are decent washrooms on the way...washrooms are a big deal...I remember last time we went and we had to use nasty holes on the side's of the streets....not pleasant...hopefully they're more modern now

I think most of the buses don't have bathrooms, so I can certainly understand your interest in bathrooms en route. There is usually at least one "rest stop", and while rest stops seem to be improving quite a bit in quality, there is no guarantee that you don't get a nasty hole -- as that is what most of them still are.

If you are ever on a plane and notice a woman standing on the toilet in the bathroom by herself when the door opens, then you'll know where the habit came from. :D

The only time I had to visit the restroom at DEL these past 16 months happened to be the time when the airport staff had gone on strike and the place became a nasty dump due to lack of clean-up. :eek: I left there thinking "India doesn't need bio-weapons labs when there are bathrooms like this". :D
