e visa to India-insight anyone ?

Have applied online for tourist paper visa to India, first submission appointment is 4 days before travel in Jan so that won't work.
E visa is quick but has been withdrawn for UK citizens, apparently due to kack of reciprocal from UK government for Indians to UK. Does anyone have any idea, even speculation, on e visa becoming available from the UK ?

I have just about had it with countries and their petty bureaucracy when it comes to this kind of thing. I could write a book about the idiocy of the USCIS and now India has removed e-visa for British nationals. Unbelievable. What a complete pain in the neck.

that's true....getting a uk visa in india has become extremely difficult & ridiculously expensive....i know someone who applied recently, had to wait over a month to get it, paid to get a 10 year visa & was only given a 2 year visa instead....no refund on the visa fee for the 10 year visa as well....

The UK and US treat Indians like the second worst group of countries when it comes to issuing visas. Only citizens of rogue nations like N. Korea, Iran etc are treated worse. Although I really don't subscribe to the populist nationalism of the current govt the reaction is understandable. There used to be working groups between the two countries to address and solve perceived issues & problems (overstay on tourist visas etc) but those have all been shelved.
