Delhi airport hotel / lounge?

Traveling to India next month (final destination Bangalore) from Vancouver. Prefer to take the YVR --> Delhi nonstop, and the non-stop is very reasonably priced for a biz class ticket (less than $4000 RT). Problem is...as soon as I add in the BLR leg, the price literally jumps to over $11000!!! So I'm considering buying a separate ticket on a local India airline (Air India / Vistara, etc) for the DEL --> BLR roundtrip portion. Now...the issue I'm facing is on the return leg. The YVR flight leaves out of DEL at 7:40 am. There aren't any flights out of BLR early enough in the morning to allow me to connect to the 7:40 am AC flight, so I would need to get to Delhi the night before and spend the night.

So question is....has anyone overnighted at / near the Delhi airport, and what are the recommended places to sleep for the night? Are there any hotels at the airport / near the international terminal?

TIA!

I definitely recommend the Aerocity hotel, commercial and entertainment complex right next to the airport. Many excellent hotels there such as JW Marriott Aerocity or Andaz by Hyatt Aerocity and a variety of others that vary in price and category. And you'll get from terminal to hotel lobby and vice versa in 10 mins.

Article about Aerocity here: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...w/67419438.cms

Apart from the brands I mentioned above, there's also a Holiday Inn, Pullman, Aloft and more.

Also for your domestic BLR leg, do yourself a favour and fly Vistara. Air India sucks (only time they would be okay is for such a short flight as yours and in their widebody aircraft J cabin).

Let me know if you want more advice.

I have stayed at the in-terminal Holiday Inn Express at DEL T3 a few times during long layovers not unlike yours. You should look into that option. A representative from the hotel will meet you when you land and escort through the security theater that is DEL and ultimately will lead you to the hotel check-in counter. Very easy.

Perhaps you should also consider checking with a competent TA to book everything on the same ticket. AC connecting to AI and vice-versa should be easy and should not incur the exagerated additional cost you mention.

The Aerocity is a great and easy choice. It’s just a few minutes away by taxi or shuttle.

There is a Holiday Inn within the airport but if you read reviews you’ll find that people’s experiences have been very mixed.

I do this several times a year (well, to & from YYZ on AC to DEL, then connect internally in India on separate tickets, but the idea is the same) and I always stay at the JW Marriott in the Aerocity. They have a hotel car that will run you to/from in a few minutes. I would avoid the Holiday Inn in the terminal - the JW is way better and is so close the convenience factor of being in the terminal is negligible, and if you don't use Marriott there are several other hotels in the same complex as several others have pointed out.

There are a couple of *G lounges in DEL, AC steers you to the SQ one but the LH one is right next door to it as well. They are both pretty mediocre.

While I appreciate the poster is flying Air Canada the question of airport hotels is not airline but rather destination specific so the thread has been relocated to the FT India destination forum for further discussion.

i would recommend the holiday inn express at the airport....you won't need to leave the terminal....

I booked into the JW, but the holiday inn express being IN TERMINAL sounds tempting. So the JW car service...is that just a shuttle? or do you have to schedule a pickup / drop-off via the hotel concierge?

Have also overnighted in various hotels in Aerocity, last time in Pride Plaza.

Early morning flights from BLR to DEL are also available departing about 0030 and 0130, with 5 minute walK between terminals, but probably not as comfortable or relaxing as staying close to T3.

It's a car service that you have to contact the hotel to arrange. It is chargeable.
