1-2 night tour from DEL?

My 20 y.o. daughter will be volunteering in New Delhi for two weeks and has the weekend free for 1-2 nights to Agra and Jaipur. Any recommendations for a safe driver / guide? She's solo so would like to join other singles or a small group.

Any other tips for her first visit to India (cell phone / SIM, local currency, etc.)?

TIA,

Tom

i can recommend a ta my firm has been using for many years....they tend to be on the expensive side but offer great service....pm me if you are interested....

she can get a local sim at the airport & can exchange currency there as well....

At that age find a tour that caters to backpackers. She'll have more fun.

I would definitely suggest she looks for a tour rather than go solo with a guide/driver. It can be a long drive from Delhi to Agra. It's a really long drive from Agra to Jaipur, through some very remote parts of Rajasthan. It would be a lot safer and more fun in a group.

Yes - She should definitely visit Akshardham temple - Sahaj Anand water show was one of the best I experienced. it is 24 minutes show and starts around sunset,
Tips - do not carry any electronic devices, or else you need to stand in the long queue and deposit them.

Delhi to Agra can be done in about 3 and half hours if leaving early and the road is good. Agra to Jaipur road is also good and not much traffic when I have travelled on it. From memory there is not much to see on the way, but I have always been travelling for business to specific places.

Agra to Jaipur by flight and train is also possible.

Definitely recommend Leh. You can take the overnight train to Kashmir, and then drive up from there. Lots of options.
