Renewed hostilities between India and Pakistan

Are these affecting commercial flights to and from India or those that use their airspace?

Flightradar shows Pakistan airspace empty except for one Aeroflot aircraft BKK-SVO. There is substantial traffic in Indian airspace with a well defined corridor skirting to the south of the Pakistan border.
Flights to and from Western Europe to Delhi will need to factor in longer flight times. Just my luck unless it is all sorted by next week

There are already at least five other threads on this. Hopefully a Mod will combine all of them.

Pakistan has closed its air space. Depending on where an aircraft is and how the closure affects the route, it may simply fly a longer route, be cancelled or held or be diverted. By way of example, UA diverted a flight which was roughly over Moscow back to FRA.

An AC YYZ-DEL flight apparently got all the way to Sweden before turning back for YYZ. An SQ flight flew at the way to the Pakistani border with India and then had to fly around India to divert to DXB.

Its the end of Monday in Pakistan and their airspace remains closed for overflights. There is still military activity on the Kashmir border so not over as quickly as one would hope.

There is alway military activity along the LOC. But usually the military activity doesn’t mess up commercial air travel like it has in the past several days.

Even after air traffic goes back to normal, my bet is that the kind of Indian ground casualty situation that rather rapidly led to this air travel interruption is going to be more frequent rather than less frequent in the years ahead.
