Hi... I'm traveling to Jaisalmer next week. Does anyone have recommendation for hotel, and staying in the fort vs. outside. Also looking to stay at a desert camp. Have found some conflicting reports on the Manvar tented camp. anyone have a personal experience there or recommend an alternative.
Lastly, transfer from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur suggestions are appreciated.

what is your budget for the hotel????

I'd say around 50$ more or less. I've been quoted from 15 to 1050 in Udaipur so seems like it's all over the map.
need a place there too... if you have a suggestion.

The fort's interesting, but Jaisalmer is pretty small, so I wouldn't make much of a special effort to stay within the fort.

Udaipur is more spread out. I'd suggest a place that can give you a room with a good lake view

Nothing specific to suggest hotel-wise.

I will say that I enjoyed Jodhpur more than Jaisalmer, which is devoted to tourism.

I know this is an old thread, but if you are here and looking for stay options near Jaisalmer then try visiting the village Khuri. It is worth it.
