One day private car tour from Delhi

Am planning to do a day tour to Vrindavan/Mathura by private car with guide.

Does anyone here have any direct experience with either an individual or a tour company they can recommend? The price if booked through my hotel is absurdly high, maybe 3-6x the prices I see online so I am reluctant to go with the hotel service!

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

If you haven't found anything yet to your liking, I have had good success with ToursByLocals.

I wrote three agencies from online search. One seemed quite responsive, so I booked them. They don't require payment until completion of the tour so that suggests they are likely to show up at least. I also specified the car which they agreed to.

They do make clear that the driver is not a guide but claim a guide is not required. I am less sanguine about that and might hire one through the hotel, for some reason their charge for just a guide doesn't seem completely crazy. But it turned out that the driver did a fine job doubling as guide and so am glad that, in the end, I didn't hire a separate guide.

This worked out really well.
