LOL Apparently that has sexual connotations (which were obviously lost on me haha).
From this site: the correct translation should be "Sitting and eating on the carpet is prohibited." I was worried carpet was a local delicacy! |
My Hindi friend let me know that it should say "Eating on the floor is prohibited".
I guess two centuries of British English classes haven't always helped the government caste. Glad that there is a logical explanation. |
