Indian Visa Renewal in different passport whilst in country

Hi, I'm currently working in India on an Indian visa, as a UK national. My current visa is due to expire in early January, but I'm not due to leave India until Jan 31st. Obviously this would normally be an issue.

However, I have 2 UK passports (both valid) and have been granted a new business visa in my 2nd UK passport. This passport is being sent over to India for me to collect. In theory, this should mean that I can stay in India beyond January 10th (current visa expiry), as my new visa is valid until the end of 2018?

Will I have any problem leaving India using the passport I entered on, if I can show them the new visa, despite it being in a different passport?
