Question Can Shankha be brought from India back to US for religious purpose

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shankha

Hi seniors,

I will be traveling to Delhi this month and someone asked me to bring Shankha for religious purpose. Is there any issue bringing it? Please see link above to see the picture.

Should be fine though they may open the same to check.. you can explain to them what it is. if u r purchasing from some shop etc, helpful to have a bill which shows the purchase price (since this is not something very expensive usually)

i don't see why you should have any issues bringing something like this back....they would treat it the same as you bringing back a souvenir....

The person transporting it will have to declare it to US immigration/customs; often enough they are allowed in without issue, but make sure to have it declared at the passport/visa-checking counter and in the baggage claim area when encountering customs clearance personnel.

The biggest issue will be if it passes the wildlife/ag check; they mostly seem to pass.
