If you are a woman, don't do inter terminal transfers on their shuttles. Better take prepaid taxis (verified)

My wife had a very bad experience (It need not happen with everyone), she had to wait 40 mins. for the shuttle and the shuttle was overcrowded with all men and was even harassed (placed a hand on her shoulder and with a smile on his face) by an undignified b******* on the bus. The bus is not like your ordinary shuttle bus in other international airports, with space for your luggage etc. Its similar to local buses used for intra city commute.

Delhi used to charge a bomb as UDF fees, I cant imagine that they are not providing decent shuttle services. I will never ever transit through Delhi, forget about my wife. Its a disgrace that this happens in the capital airport.

Wake up GMR, if you want to become a world class transit airport, then you are no where close to it (that too charging a bomb in fees).

Did you report it to GMR or other responsible party in person, via Twitter etc? What was their response?

Customer service agent asked me to send an email when I called them, sent an email. Also sent a message on their FB page. Yet to hear from them.

Those buses have been awful for decades. I would also suggest that prepaid taxis make more sense -- especially to minimize exposure to the high heat and humidity, but also to save time and avoid that scene.

There used to be a time in India when at least women of means were far safer in India than is now the case. As online porn/mobile phone porn spread like weed across the country, the situation only got worse and worse in terms of safety for women and not having to worry about unwanted/illegal physical contact and verbal assaults. Keep in mind that even kissses used to be censored in movies for most of India's history post-British occupation.

Used to do the BOM Dom to International pretty regularly till a few years ago. The shuttle was fine enough with room for luggage in the hold and handbags and such inside the bus. Never had a worry besides delays.

But I am a man and Delhi is a different beast. The OP's wife's experience is very very unfortunate.

Shameful!

It was at 11:50PM, She thought Shuttle would be safer than a Delhi Taxi, that's the reason she took a shuttle

Delhi and North India are indeed sort of still a different beast than South/Coastal India, but it is worse across the board in India than it used to be. And I'm pretty sure that the reporting aspect/attention change isn't a primary driver of the situation being what it has become.

A few decades ago, young adult, foreign female tourists to India would almost never have been subjected to lewd comments by people at the airports or on the street in India even when alone; now, it's almost certain to happen when paying attention and understanding the local language(s)/vernacular/slang if you stay around for long enough; often this happens even when in the company of a male travel companion. It's really gotten shamefully bad, and it's not just due to demographic shifts.

That would actually be a rather wise and safe assumption most parts of the world-- being in a more public setting rather than the complete privacy of a taxi, in the late hours of the night.

I still didn't hear anything from GMR/Delhi airport, this shows their empathy towards the passengers. Looks like they don't give a s***

Have you tried social media? Public shaming has shown to have some effect at times.

Public shaming is self shaming too sometimes, especially in this scenario.
