VISA requirement for transiting via Abu Dhabi
 

My daughter is flying from LA to Mumbai via Abu Dhabi. She has a stop-over of 7 hours at Abu Dhabi International Airport. She is arriving by Jet Airways (9W) from LA and her connection to Mumbai is also by Jet Airways (9W).

1. She holds an Indian passport
2. She plans to stay back in the airport only after landing.

Q1. Will she require a transit visa?
Q2. Can she book her luggage directly to Mumbai from LA?

Clarification and Information on this will be greatly appreciated?

Is the whole travel on a single ticket?

If so, she does not need a transit visa for Abu Dhabi if she does not intend to leave the airport.

A single ticket will also ensure her bags are tagged directly to Mumbai.

P.S.: Jet Airways does not fly to LAX. It must be an Etihad flight, with a 9W codeshare.

if she is on a single ticket then she does not need a visa & can check in her bags all the way to mumbai....

if she is on two separate tickets then she may not be able to check in her bags all the way to her final destination but she will have the option of getting a visa on arrival at abu dhabi so that she can get her bags & check them in for her flight to mumbai....
