Short trip to India

I was able to pick up the EY fair sale on Christmas Day. Now I am flying in to BOM and out of DEL. Just have a couple questions hope someone can answer.

I am getting in on saturday night, currently booked at the country in and suites in BOM for 2 nights. Then taking a night train to DEL on Monday night, staying two nights and flying out of DEL on Thursday night.

In BOM, is the country inn and suites in a good location(transit and visit)?
How is the night train between BOM and DEL.
DEL is a big town which area should I stay or which hotel (best use of points at a chain)

Thank you!

Country Inn and Suites is located in Navi Mumbai, and is around 30 km from the airport and 40 km from South Mumbai (where most of the sights are). I would not recommend this hotel unless you are on a business visit to Navi Mumbai. If you are looking a chain hotel, I would suggest Intercontinental on Marine Drive in Mumbai or Holiday Inn near the airport. Accor has 3 hotels in Mumbai around 1 to 10 km from the airport (Ibis, Novotel and Sofitel).

In case you are looking to use points with Club Carlson, it is best to do that in Delhi. They have about 15 to 20 hotels around Delhi. I would recommend the Country Inn and Suites at Saket or Radisson Blu Marina at Connaught Place. In addition, there is an Ibis, a Holiday Inn and a Marriott at the airport at Delhi next to a metro station that will take you to Central Delhi in 25 minutes.

As far as night trains are concerned, you should take a Rajdhani train from Mumabi to Delhi. This is the fastest and most comfortable.

the country inn & suites is not where you want to stay in mumbai....nothing wrong with the hotel but its very far from everywhere you would want to be in mumbai....

let me know which hotel chains you have points with & i can recommend something in delhi....

also, when is your trip????keep in mind that this is not the best time for taking a train into or out of delhi....delhi trains get delayed frequently in december & january due to fog season....

My trip will be in September.

I have spg, Hilton, club Carlson and Marriott points. Any cheap local hotel (bom and del) would work too.

Thanks!

there are some good spg options in both delhi & mumbai....lots of cat 3 properties where c&p is also often available....in september you should be able to get rooms for around $100-120 a night in both cities....

i would recommend the itc grand central in mumbai & the le méridien in delhi....
