My son and daughter submitted application, one in NY through an agent (not BLS) and my don in DC through (BLS), my daughter got hers when it was promised. My son on the other hand kept getting the running around, so he personally took a day off from work, went to the counsel ate and sat there, called every random # that the counsel ate had, kept calling and calling, he disturbed one guy so much that the guy told him he'll look into it, within an hour my son had his passport with the visa in his hand.

Now we all can travel to India tomorrow. If they don't improve their visa application this would be our last trip there. Too much hassle.

Similar situation here
I applied for tourist visa for my children in person at the dc office on May 12. They told me I should get in 3-5 days after submission. I got notice that the passports were submitted on 13- May through Bls. The status remained that way till the transition to CKGs, and since then no tracking at all. I even went to ckgs office and they have no idea about the tracking, say system is down! They ask me to wait, have to travel in a couple of weeks!

I am wondering if there is any way we can all sign some petition or know the status ?

So did u go to dc embassy for this? Or was it at consulate in NYC? Does that mean passports are just waiting at the embassy ?

NY was through a travel agent.

DC he went alone to the processing office, once he couldn't get any results he just hounded the consulate in DC. He wasn't willing to miss his best friend's wedding.

Went in in person to CKGS NY today. Place is still a mess, systems are not working. Clearly they're not ready for prime time.
My mailed in tourist visa app arrived on Tuesday of this week and by today it is just finished being processed to go to consulate. I guess that's how long it usually take for this part of the process. I don't know the rest of the process as I pulled my app due to urgent traveling plan. Will probably resume the process in a month when I won't need to use my passport for a while. Then I can post my full experience with CKGS.

CKGS a mess

Dear All

Trust me that CKGS is no better than BLS and I say this with personal experience. Initially the useless guys at BLS delayed my application for so and so reasons which is unjustified in any sense but now when the transition has happened the CKGS in not accepting my application which I want to resubmit.

I have been escorted by the guards in a very violent manner and was stopped to enter the building. There is no management to entertain the applicants. I am stuck with bunch of idiots and they are not helping me in any way. I need some help from people who can guide me in the process.

I am standing nowhere in this process and need urgent help. The federal govt should take action against the CKGS services, we deserve a service for the payment that we will make.

Worst service provider

Had to face so many problems with BLS but the new service provider is even worse. I cant imagine how people can deny that they will not accept our visa application I have been said so right in my face at the application centre. Even the entry has been denied at the centre. All the media was there still they didn't wanted to make any change in their attitude. The embassy has given this duty to cox and kings services that they will have to process the application but what they are doing is completely unethical. I will take this matter further. At least BLS accepted all the stuff

I don't know when this will be resolved, when can we see a company thats capable of handling the services in US. Please help

Dear krtc1980

There tracking system shows no record on the application submitted at BLS. My step son's application was submit at the New York centre on 17 April 2014 and till the time I tracked it on BLS tracking it was with the Consulate but now there is no status at all. Bls says that they have handed over to Cox and kings and cox and kings have no record of it and they say that we have not received any application details of your's. I guess we people are left in a mess and there is no way we can overcome this. We must all approach the Consulate to complain about them and seek a resolution for this.

Looks like Ministry of External affairs - Sushma Swaraj has to look into this

I think we should all wait a few months for the backlog to catch up and systems and processes to smooth out. This isn't India can't just show up at the door with threats and expect stuff to get done. This is a transition period.

It's a poor "transition", and Cox&Kings is solely responsible for some aspects of failing to meet reasonable expectations during the transition. In the end, I blame the Indian Government for doing the (partial) outsourcing of the visa application process.

There are allegedly 5,000 visa applications in backlog, so it's going to take time for them to catch up on those before even thinking about beginning new ones. The software coding error is bad but a lot of this is really BLS's fault. But I agree in the end the visa processing shouldn't be outsourced in the first place.

Thumbs down CKGS

I am not sure but it looks like lax2010 is a great supporter of CKGS and can't hear a single word against them. He has all the news related to them even their notices WOW. Whom are you trying to fool, let me bring you down to the reality. Please visit the office of CKGS (if you can because the security won't let you in) I paid $15 to a security personnel to make an entry. The place is a complete mess and things are so disorganized that if the passport is lost there there must be no big surprise. No tracking of whose documents are accepted.

All they can say is that and I quote "We can't accept your application" as we don't have your details.

Bls don't exist now, embassy says talk to CKGS and CKGS don't take any interest in our application. I saw someone asking how CKGS tracking works.

I must inform you that it doesn't work at all. They have not updated any application detail received from bls. The application details of my daughters are not showing anywhere on their website. And even when I visited the centre (please note after paying $15) the person hat counter number 3 tells me that there is no application for your daughter. Trust me I've submitted it and was able to track it last at bls website.

I think the embassy should intervene in this matter.
