Transfer waiting area
 

Hello - I know there are many posts on the subject, but I can't seem to find any with this exact situation.

I will be arriving from the US at 8:15 pm (United) to New Delhi airport (carry on only). I have a flight on Jet Airways departing to KAT at 6:30 am the following day.

I have read that I will have to wait in the transfer lounge until 3-4 hrs before my flight, because I need a old-fashioned boarding pass - I don't have any idea how I get this- in order to proceed into the main T3 terminal (from what I have read it might be from the transfer desk?).

Is this correct? Is there no way to obtain a boarding pass and proceed into the Terminal any sooner? I would like to rent a pod or go to a lounge rest area to try to sleep.

i take it you don't have an indian visa????

the boarding pass issue is inconvenient but i don't think there is any way around it....one option is to use the airport hotel....you can access the international terminal side of the hotel without having to go through immigration....

Hi - thanks for the response. No, I do not have a visa. I read you do not need one for less than 24 hr transit, and that if I did have one, I would be forced to exit the airport and re-enter.

You will be arriving in the International terminal (T3) and both flights are from there. You can stay in the airport hotel which is quite good. You just walk over to Jet counter in the morning and get your boarding pass there. Yes, boarding passes are old fashioned and used all over the world still. :)

Transit visa is not available at the airport and you have to get it prior to travel. Since you are arriving at 8pm and leaving at 6:30 am, it is not worth the money and the hassle.

So have a safe and fun trip.

UA can print AI and 9W boarding passes - have them pull up your res to DEL, add the onward seg as a passive segment, and then attempt to check in. They should be able to interline your bags as well.
