Mumbai airport (BOM)

Looking at a trip to India next winter, flying into Delhi and out of Mumbai (and as of right now, fares seem reasonable). However, I'll be ending my trip in Goa. Flying from Goa to Mumbai seems cheap and easy (adding an additional 1-way flight, versus flying connectively out of Goa, is remarkably cheaper), but the connecting times aren't friendly (into BOM at 11pm, out of BOM at 5:30am the next morning — at least based on some schedules I'm looking at now.)

Spending the night in an airport sounds unappealing. Spending the night in a foreign airport, even more so. But because of the wide range or arrival and departure times, can I expect amenities available around the clock? Is anyone familiar with BOM?

THanks!

Your GOI (Goa) - BOM flight will land at the domestic airport and international flight will depart from the international airport. Even though they share the same run way they are considered seperate airports and are about 5 kms apart.

Bombay traffic isn't too bad between 11:00 pm and 5:30 am so it shouldn't take you more than 20 - 30 minutes to get from the domestic to international terminal. I haven't taken a prepaid taxi from the airport in a while but I'm guessing it shouldn't cost you more than Rs. 200.

You can also check out the shuttle buses that run between the domestic and international terminal but I think a taxi would be quicker and easier at the hour you're landing.

The international airport has plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, stores, etc. I think their might be a lounge or two that offers a day pass.

The other option will be to take a taxi to a hotel located near the international airport and having a snack there and just hanging out. Several of the hotels have a free shuttle to the international airport.

You will likely not be able to check in early so will likely need to spend a few hours in internationals check in which isn't that comfortable. I had the same thing few months ago, connecting from Goa to a BA flight to London. Got there 4 or 5h before, they said check in would open 3h before, it eventually did 2.5h before, even as status pax in Club no chance before that.
I'd probably take a hotel for a few hours if did it again.
