Visa required for DEL Milage Run?

I'm looking at a MR from ORD - DEL and back.

My question is will I need an Indian tourist visa if I arrive in DEL and depart 9 hours later? My plans are to remain in the airport (as much as I would love to go into the city!)

I saw some discussion on this thread about a transit visa. I didn't see one on the Indian Consulate website.

My apologies if this has already been answered on another thread, but I didn't find one via the search.

Thanks!

if you are not planning to exit the airport then you do not need a visa....

just hang out in one of these cabins while you are there:

In most of the other courtries I've done this, you are OK as long as you are departing within then next 24 hours and have a boarding pass.

But it is always better to make sure.

Thanks for the tip about the transit hote!

DEL is just like any other airport. That is, if you have one bookin going international to international. Then you dont need a visa. Same like international transfer in any other airport in the world, except US. If you have two bookings, you have to rely on the helpfullness of the transferstaff.

It is reallyy not that difficult?
