I spend a lot of time in Chennai, and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for great restaurants.
Any and all types of food! |

Any and all types of food! Let us have more information as to specifics, so that we can suggest accordingly. |
Thanks for the link, this is an excellent launching point.
There aren't many specifics, I enjoy food of all types and all cost levels. I will say that my favorite restaurants in Chennai so far have been Tuscana and Dakshin (at the Park Sheraton). |
http://chennai.burrp.com is much better - and tripadvisor has some reviews
Besides Tuscana and Dakshin (good choices) you can look at - 1. Azulia (Mediterranean) and Copper Point (South Indian) at the GRT Grand in T.Nagar 2. Great Kabab Factory at the Radisson (out by the Airport) 3. Kumarakom (a chain, mid-priced), or Ente Keralam (a bit more expensive) for Kerala coastal style food (seafood mostly) 4. Kokum (food from all over India's coasts not just Kerala) - another chain 5. In Seoul (TTK Road) - Korean 6. Akasaka (Japanese) .. tiruvanmiyur I think There's a few others around but these should do for a start. PM me when you next land in MAA - we can set up a FT mini do again

The great Kebab factory ^^ If you're staying at the Chola Sheraton one of the best you'll get is Bay Leaf (almost across the street, look for a "chaat" place called Gangotri, which is great for sweets / snacks, and there's a tiny lane next to it that you walk down for a couple of hundred yards, Bay Leaf is on your left). |

Terrific suggestions thank you! Are these set up in your order of recommendation?
Bay Leaf (Bengali / Lucknowi restaurant in a lane opposite the Chola Sheraton on Cathedral Road) is a place I eat at a lot more regularly because it is a short walk from my office. Ask for either their Biryani rice, or their Kosha Mangsho (mutton meatball stew) with steamed rice, you can't go wrong. Another dish of potatoes cooked with yogurt is quite nice. In Seoul is close too but its rather expensive and walking into an aircon office after eating Kimchi is not something I'd always recommend. |
